Well the ASP World Championship Tour, the Pipe Masters, and the Vans Hawaii Triple Crown of Surfing all wrapped up last Sunday morning (Oz, Indo and Thailand time. 'Twas Saturday afternoon on the beach at the mighty Pipeline) and what an epic conclusion to the 2013 season it was.
Mick Fanning won his 3rd World Title. Kelly won his 7th Pipe Masters (and VERY nearly his 12th World!) Title. And the young Hawaiian prodigy, John-John Florence, won his 2nd Triple Crown.
The conditions at Pipe on the final day were all-time. Just perfect booming Pipe. The dream scenario was a final showdown between Slater and John-John, and that's exactly what we got.
There's a whole heap to froth on here, and seeing as it's 2 minutes past midnight on a Wednesday night in a dodgy corner of Bangkok..this probably isn't the time to discuss it! But we'll be back in Bali tomorrow and I'll be back with a full report from there. Stay tuned!
